Awesome, Thanks for the Dark Mode.
When dark mode shipped on Windows.
J'ai acheté la version complète et elle est vraiment très complète.
Elle m'a permis d'organiser 80000 photos de manière très efficace.
J'ai pu supprimer des doublons, des captures d'écran inutiles, compresser des photos, et classer les photos par année.
Merci beaucoup
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): I bought the full version and it really is very complete. It let me organize 80,000 photos very efficiently. I was able to delete duplicates and useless screenshots, compress photos, and sort the photos by year. Thank you very much.
Unprompted message titled "Foliosort est une très bonne application".
The new feature that suggests matching athletes across different drives is working!
Matching the same athletes across drives.
In my experience, it already feels faster and more responsive than ACDSee and Peakto when browsing large photo collections.
Beta report on 547,000 files across 6 folders.
That's awesome news! My eyes are definitely going to thank you for this, so I really appreciate the update. 🙏
You did a fantastic job!
When dark mode shipped on Windows, a month after he asked.
On a very positive note, I find FolioSort noticeably faster than the other solutions I've been using, especially when browsing my large photo library.
Feedback on a new version.
This is exactly what I needed! The athletes and scenes remain recognizable even when the original SSD is disconnected.
Offline previews with the external SSD disconnected.
Overall, the new offline previews are already a major improvement. Thank you for listening to my feedback and implementing this feature so quickly!
Testing offline previews on a 379,000-file library.
Thanks again for listening to your users and improving the software!
His request: thumbnails and faces when drives are disconnected. Shipped the next day.
For my work, being able to see thumbnails even when the drives are disconnected is extremely important. Facial recognition and the ability to find specific athletes across all my photo archives are also essential features.
His request: thumbnails and faces when drives are disconnected. Shipped the next day.
FolioSort has enormous potential for my workflow, especially with such a large photo collection.
He still had 15 external SSDs to add.
Wow! You’re extraordinary! Thank you! 🙏🥳
After a fix for an indexing stall on 180,000 photos.
Loving Foliosort and very impressed with your turnaround with my issues.
After a crash on 30,000 files was fixed.
That's great Tiago, all working fine now. Many thanks for the swift response.
After a licence moved to a reinstalled PC.
I really love the work you have done. It’s so complete and anything I can do to help you benefits us both.
During a support thread about People search.
It would be great to be able to sort people by first or last names in both the Library/People and Find/People windows.
Feature request.
How is the facial recognition so fast??? It’s amazing.
Indexing a library with 400+ faces to name.
Excellent changes. Took all the pain away! Bravo!
After a fix for the People view he reported.
I will not need a refund, super satisfied customer.
After Live Photo pairing was added; she had asked for a refund.
Thank you for building that, saves me heaps of time!
After Live Photo pairing was added.
Every corresponding movie file gets paired with its jpeg and I have not seen the movie file get displaced.

One suggestion I do have, having visited your website, is to make it clearer that your prices are single payments for lifetime access.
After visiting the website. The pricing page was changed the same day.
Because subscriptions are so common, at first glance I could easily mistake your prices for monthly charges.
Comparing FolioSort with digiKam, which he used before.
I like the cleanup tools and still have to work through them and what they offer that Excire doesn't.
Before buying; he also uses Excire.
It works amazing!! Thanks!!!
After a fix for a library scan that stalled at 400 of 140,000 files.
I love my FolioSort SSD drive now. I am really organized and it's nice not to have gigs of duplicates. I hope my grandkids someday appreciate them.
A few weeks later, about his photo SSD.
I am impressed so far with Foliosort, it’s already helping get onto of my files outside Apple Photos.
About photos outside Apple Photos.
Everything is working great so far, though I haven't tested every single feature yet.
After buying Elite.
I've got about 9 years worth of photos to organize (download and sort) and while most of the really old ones don't even use live photos, the majority of the last 3-4 years do and wow, I took a lot of photos so I was really happy to find your app.
First message, asking for a refund over Live Photos.
I purchased your photo sorter pro and while it does work really well for pictures, I am having a heck of a time sorting and keeping live pictures together.
First message, asking for a refund over Live Photos.
I see there have been many releases since the app launched, so you’re clearly putting a lot of work into it.
First message, before buying.
I just came across your FolioSort app. I think I’ve finally found something to help me organize my photos.
First message, before buying Elite three days later.
Regarding the dark theme, I use a big, bright screen.
Asking for a dark theme on Windows.
You have made an amazing app, which is exactly why I’m excited to share feedback and help make it even better.
Sending a list of suggestions.
Thanks for the reply, that was impressively fast!
Reply to the developer.
I've already used FolioSort about three times today, whereas I'd reluctantly use digiKam a couple of times a week before.
Comparing FolioSort with digiKam, which he used before.
I also find the app much easier to use. It's the mix of AI and a better interface that won me over.
Comparing FolioSort with what he used before.
FolioSort does most of that for me. Of course it isn't perfect, but it's as good as I've seen, and it's a huge step up for what I need.
Comparing FolioSort with what he used before.
Thanks a lot for all your help and really quick responses.
After the fixed build.
Everything seems to work great. Nice job 🙂
After the fixed build.
First of all I would like to confirm once again the excellent work you have done... Look at the attachment! 125,121 photos in one night is AMAZING!
Follow-up a few days later, with a screenshot of the result.
I'd really like to get FolioSort working, as I love the idea behind it. I'm also happy to support a smaller developer who's clearly taking the issue seriously.
Before the fix, while his first build crashed.
thank you for the explanations. i am happy to know that even if the process is interrupted, there will be no lost files.
Organizing 93,000 files on a NAS; asked whether an interruption could lose files.
I would like to clarify: mine are not criticisms... Just an attempt to, perhaps, improve a product that, from my point of view, does NOT need to be improved as it is already perfect!
After sending a list of suggestions.
it is very clear when you open the various sections and there is a short writing of how that particular type of service works!
About the short explanations in each section.
(the truth is that it has never made a mistake and therefore the verification on my part could be superfluous).
Listing what he would never give up.
the duplicate verification function: very useful to make the archive linear... I don't know how you did it, but it doesn't seem to make a mistake (even when the files have different names)...
Listing what he would never give up.
the security that no photo can be deleted (working locally, the possibility of control, the copy function and not just move...)... Perfect!
Listing what he would never give up.
(ah, to answer your question: both ChatGPT and Gemini have recommended your application!)
Answering the developer's question: how did you find FolioSort?
Thank you for your application: truly a great job! Exceptional! A software I've been looking for for years and that I finally discovered!
First message.
I asked intelligence to suggest an artificial intelligence to sort and organize 20 years of photographs, and the artificial intelligence advised me not to use an AI, but to use Foliosort.
First message.
In just one night, I organized about 100,000 photographs!!!!!!
First message, subject line "Where have you been?!".
I was serious about the mental health aspect. I've had these zip archives scattered across various drives for more than ten years. Some for twenty. The weight of them, and the knowledge of the work and emotion and frustration I'd go through organizing them cannot be overstated.
Explaining his earlier line about mental health.
The one thing I really wanted in the app was a small "i" or "!" next to some of the functions to further explain what they'd do. That could be either a hover over pop up, or a link to documentation. Having said that, the non-destructive nature takes a lot of stress out of things!
Answering the developer's question: what would you improve? (Help docs went live that week.)
I found it through many online searches, and my last search, just last night, I reluctantly used duckduckgo's AI search.
Answering the developer's question: how did you find FolioSort?
The trial was fantastic too, clearly showing the capabilities and the amazing speed. Nothing at all made me want to close a tab.
Answering the developer's question about what made him buy.
Also, a one time purchase, and clear upgrade tiers were a huge selling point to me.
Answering the developer's question about what made him buy.
The website is very clear, and manages to completely avoid the scammy feeling a lot of photo software sites have. Very professional and clear.
Answering the developer's question: was the website clear?
I bought the Elite version after a 5 minute trial. You sir, are a genius.
Listing the features he valued most.
I realize the prior isn't the most focused feedback, so here are a few things I just can't get over: Nondestructive organizing, combining .json files with the image files, organizing in folders by date, duplicate finding (!!!) library combining from multiple drives and sources, privacy oriented, with offline access (these two things ghave become increasingly import to me over the years), so so many things!
Listing the features he valued most.
You have saved me literally hundreds of hours, and beyond that, improved my mental health beyond measure. Thank you so much.
Unprompted message, less than a day after buying.
Hey, I have to tell you, this is an astounding program. Unbelievably good. You should be massively proud of yourself.
Unprompted message, less than a day after buying.
Thanks, and nice addition with the language setting — it’s very convenient!
His suggestions were implemented the same evening.
Gracias de nuevo por toda tu ayuda y por haberlo solucionado tan rápido.
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): Thanks again for all your help and for fixing it so quickly.
After the developer fixed a licence mix-up he had caused.
Gosto da simplicidade e vejo que é rápido das experiências que fiz com cerca de 1000 fotos e videos.
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): I like the simplicity, and from my tests with about 1,000 photos and videos I can see it's fast.
After testing Workflows.
Tenho encontrado coisas engraçadas como o seu caso, de developers que fazem o essencial, percebem de fotografia, endereçam 95% do que se precisa, muito bem feito, sem o lastro, o custo e a penalidade na performance que as grandes plataformas têm.
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): I've been finding nice things like your case: developers who do the essential, understand photography, cover 95% of what you need, very well made, without the baggage, cost and performance penalty of the big platforms.
Answering the developer's question: how did you find FolioSort?
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): How I got to FolioSort: it was Claude, which I pay for and use for many things. It didn't get there on the first tries; lots of tools came up that I'm tired of: very heavy, or with monthly subscriptions that don't make sense for my use as an enthusiast amateur. After insisting on simplicity, aimed at import and reorganizing, no subscriptions, FolioSort came up.
Answering the developer's question: how did you find FolioSort?
Adquiri a licença Pro há uns dias e estou a gostar bastante da funcionalidade mas vou precisar das funcionalidades de workflow do Elite.
English translation (ours, not the customer's words): I bought the Pro licence a few days ago and I like the functionality a lot, but I'm going to need the Elite workflow features.
Asking how to upgrade from Pro to Elite.
I love to see how responsive you are to feedback, that’s really great to see.
After a fix he asked for shipped.
You have auto-culling feature, it works really great and also gives correction remarks, I think a feature that is really needed one is bulk crop, if you can add it will help a lot.
About the automatic culling (Best Shot) feature.
Sincerely, I am really grateful that you are working so meticulously on the level of fine details.
After several of his requests shipped.
On a lighter note, I would say to the today's day Microsoft, they should learn from you, how to develop products around customer centric problems.
After several of his requests shipped.
This program has already been a game-changer, helping us turn a chaotic pile of ~20,000 scattered files into an organized family database half that size.
After a new release.
Great job with the latest release! It feels significantly faster than the previous version.
After a new release.
It was the first time I had tried your product, I need to sort out lots of photo files and Siri recommended you.
After a launch crash was fixed.
Thanks again, your email is very helpful in giving me the big picture of the app structure, and importantly, the best sequence to use.
After the developer explained the Takeout → Duplicates → Organize sequence.
I think she will like it and then we both can compare our work and help each other explore all the features. Plus, I want to keep you in business.
Buying a second licence for a family member.
BTW I am going to buy another copy of your software
Buying a second licence for a family member.
Well, I recovered almost 1TB on that hard drive. Plus now I can find everything, lots of stuff I forgot about
After organizing and de-duplicating his 50-year underwater photo library.
Loved the fact that, I didn't need to copy or enter my key anywhere to activate, the software itself got activated with key automatically after opening, I wonder how.
About activation, right after buying.
I have bought the Elite plan. And I am happy for the purchase.
After the developer explained the roadmap.
I value and trust your long experience in tech, clarity and determination. I am happy that I was able to have a direct conversation with the developer himself and had got valuable answers to my queries.
After the developer explained the roadmap.
I am totally satisfied with your response and your design ideology and the future of the software you want it to be like and your goal of making it the Swiss army knife of AI photo organisation and that too locally with complete privacy.
After the developer explained the roadmap.
We started with a pile of nearly 10K images over about 20 years, and the software was able to organize them for us in a way we can sort through and remove bad shots, people we have no idea why we photographed, and most importantly, put together folders we plan to have printed and share them with our now adult children.
After the developer's re-index instructions.
I've shown the software to a couple of friends and they're impressed, and frankly so am I.
After the developer's re-index instructions.
Though the app is completely offline acts so fast,* and it is the best part of it, but I wish a lot many improvements in UI and photo picker, because, there are no faster preview options and easier hover or ctrl click and faster selection options, it seems a lot of manual work still, I would be more than happy enough, if it seems to bring a lot of more automation and DAM software like picker windows/panels into it.
Before buying. Zoom and shift-select were added in the following days.
And your app does too offer one time buy for great problems that are really needed to be solved, but the capitalistic software companies are enslaving people for their data.
Before buying.
*I'm already set to buy your app asap in a day or two*, as I have tested it before, atleast it is way faster than LrC and cheaper than excire etc, which not every common man or daily user like students and professionals need, other than photographer;
Before buying, after testing the trial.
I already see a lot of potential in the app, and by its website description I felt like my search is over.
Before buying.
And love the honesty, with which it has been built and respect your humility and human connect and priority support.
Before buying.
I am so grateful to you for such a prompt response. And I was already flattered by the human nature and presentation of the app on your website.
Before buying, after the developer answered his questions.
Instant! LOL
After a fix for a slow run on a 95,000-file, 3 TB drive.
So far, everything seems to be working well for me. I was able to do the reverse geotagging, and it successfully wrote the information to an XMP file and it was fast.
After testing reverse geotagging written to XMP.
I recently purchased an elite level license, and overall the product is amazing.
First message, inside a bug report.
It's funny how I found you; I was thinking I needed to have one of our programmers write this for me. So I was asking ChatGPT if it thought creating it was a good idea. It told me about you after a few minutes. I did NOT want to pay for a yearly subscription; after organizing 50 years of underwater photos, I was done. I didn't need it ongoing.
How he found FolioSort.
But GREAT job. Very impressive.
After the developer diagnosed his first issue.
OK new to this, first glance I love this..
First hour with the app, inside a bug report.
For now, it’s great that the app can handle this with Google Takeout, particularly for dates, places, and people, and I’ll definitely consider using that feature in the future.
Before buying; coming from Lightroom.
So far, I'm very pleased with your software. We'll thought out.
After learning how duplicate handling works.
I discovered all the safe guards you have for duplicates. Exactly what I wanted.
After learning how duplicate handling works.
I have a script but, your application is what I have been looking for.
